At the beginning of the 2013/14 season with an influx of new members and some of the club's golden oldies expressing an interest in playing again, it was decided that the club should enter a team into the Leinster League in Division 3. The team consists of a number of new members (mainly ex-competitive swimmers) looking to play the sport for the first time, some of the club's older generation that want to get playing again and some of the club's older Juinor players.

 

In the past the club fielded a Division 4 team with many of the current senior team using this as a transition between Junior and Senior water polo. This proved to be a great way to give our Juniors a feel for Senior polo at a young age at a standard that would not exceed their ability. However, as lads moved into Senior Team, the older group moved into the club's newly established Division 2 team. This move meant a higher standard of Senior polo for our Juniors which made it difficult to get the Junior players enough game time at Senior level to allow them to fully develop their potential.

 

It is for this reason that the club was delighted to have an influx of new senior and junior players as well as the interest from the older members as it allowed us to field a team in the Division 3 League. The team is also happy to take on new members that are looking to take up the sport for the first time.

 

Success would soon follow as more time and effort was put into the team. They won their first piece of silverware by winning the National League Division 3 title in the 2017/18 season. This was then followed up by a triumph in the Leinster Division 3 Cup Final in 2018. Things are looking up for this ever improving side, which is proving to be a solid starting point for our younger players, as well as a good level for our older players to stay competitive.

The Division 3 Team frequently train with the club's Senior Team. The team training sessions are held at the following times/locations:



• Monday nights: Swimming 20:30 - 21:00 and Water Polo 21:00 - 22:00 in the NAC, Blanchardstown.

• Tuesday nights: Swimming 20:00 - 21:00 in Westwood Swimming pool, Clontarf

• Wednesday nights: Swimming 20:30 - 21:15 and Water Polo 21:15 - 22:15 in the NAC, Blanchardstown.
