Our Under 15s team picked up a very respectable Bronze medal at the U15 Irish Cup in Galway this weekend. The lads came out of a Group containing St. Vincents and Athlone to make it to the Semis before being halted by Corrib.

 

The Groups saw a convincing win against Athlone and a tight loss to rivals, St. Vincents. This saw the lads take to the Quarter Finals to take on Cathal Brugha. This game was another comfortable game for North Dublin, who picked up a 7-2 against the Northern side.

 

The rewards was an extremely tough Semi Final against pre-tournament favourites and home side, Corrib. The lads gave everything but it just wasn't enough against a superior Corrib side in the end so they would have to settle for a 3rd/4th place playoff. Their opponents? St. Vincents. Then team they fell to in the Groups. A side that contained an number of ex-North Dublin players. The fuse was lit. This was bound to be a cracker.

 

And a cracker it was. No fear from losing the Group game was shown at all. This Vincents team were there for the taking. The lads took to the pool as if possessed and blew their Dublin rivals right out of the water with North Dublin MVP, Dani, playing a blinder. The game finished 6-2 to the skull and bones of North Dublin.

 

Coaches, Barry and Stevie were delighted with their charges. The lads had exceeded expectations and earned a very commendable Bronze medal for their efforts. Well done boys, you deserve it.
