Division 3 Team Win National League

National League Division 3 winning squad picrtured after their League winning victory over St. Vincents

North Dublin's Division 3 National League team have won their 1st National League title with a 11-7 win against Dublin rivals, St. Vincents, in Trinity College.

 

The team is made up of older, mor experienced heads (such as Irish Senior Cup winners Mick Cope, Dave McLoughlin, Derek Wilkes and Stephen O'Brien), older newcomers and some of the clubs Junior boys. In what has been a tough season, the lads remained consistant throughout and managed to maintain a godd run to hold onto top spot going into the must win game against St. Vincents.

 

In the end, the lads ran out 11-7 winners. In truth, the scoreline probably flattered the lads as it was a much closer game than the winning margin suggests. The important thing was they clinched their 1st National League Title.

 

To the more experienced players, this was another feather in their cap. A little nod to say "we've still got it and can still remain competitive". To the newer players, such as Eoin Boyle and Bernard Sweeney, it was a vindication of the hard work put in over the last year or so to develop this team and bring it to the stage where titles are a realistic goal. For the Juniors it was an early taste of Silverware.

 

Congratulations to all involved. It's great to see the club thriving at all levels!
